burning down the house

In the third grade, as an assignment, we were asked: "if your house were burning down and you could salvage only ONE thing, what would it be?" (As an adult, I'm surprised we were asked to consider such a morbid possibility at that young age). My answer: all of my R.L Stein and Christopher Pike books in ONE large laundry basket... So for a few weeks after that, I kept all of my books in a basket by my bed, just in case...

Well, The Burning House project is basically Mrs. Jordan... and their collection of reader-submitted photos are intriguing, sometimes touching and incredibly telling of the lives/interests/values of the submitter.
